RED ROCK RANCH
If you have researched the Breed, and found it to be a breed that you feel will work for your needs, and the likes of your family, and you have reviewed our website, and spoken with us enough to know that you are confident with us as breeders, and we have also spoken with you already, about our dogs and puppies and what you are specifically looking for, and we have answered all your questions about the breed, about us and about our dogs, then you may wonder what is the next step in getting one of our puppies.
Because the demand for superior quality dogs and puppies is so high, a Responsible Breeder will usually have some sort of waiting list in which you can reserve your position in line, on a particular litter, by placing a deposit on that list. A lot of our clients will even put down deposits on litters that are not even bred yet, and are due to be bred sometime in the future. We take depoists on all litters, whether already here (already born), or just being bred, whether already pregnant or just planned. We even get a lot of clients that dont want a puppy right now, so they put deposits down on planned litters, as far ahead as a year in advance even. A lot of our litters are sold out by the time they are old enough to go home, so we do suggest early deposits on our litters whenever possible, for the best possible place in line, and the best pick in a given litter.
Please contact us for puppy prices. Deposits are $200 to hold your place in line either on a specific litter that we have available at the time, on one that we have coming, or on our waiting lists. Deposits on dogs we are training or dogs that are purchased overseas, are usually more. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, but transferable to another one of our litters, for up to 18months from the time the deposit was received. However, this applies only if your decision to wait on the current litter and transfer to another litter, is done prior to when the puppies reach 6 wks of age. After the puppies reach 6wks of age (and before they are 8wks), if the client changes their mind, and backs out for any reason, then the deposit it non-refundable and only $100 is then transferrable to another one of our litters. At that time, to get back on the waiting list, the client will have to send out another $100 to add to the $100 deposit that we are holding here. If the client backs out of wanting the puppy, after the 8th week, for whatever reason, they forfeit their deposit entirely (and any monies sent up to that point for health certificates, boarding, vet visits etc. are forfeited as well) and the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable at that time. Deposits can be transferable (when transferablity time frames apply, before the 6wk mark, for up to the 18months) for any reason, by the client. If you feel that you are not ready for a pup, at the time the litter is ready to go home, or lets say you do not like the pups that are left for you to choose from, or you just change your mind for whatever reason and want to transfer the deposit to another litter (prior to 6wks of age), that is not a problem, you can always transfer your depoist within the alloted time frames allowed, and according to the Deposit rules, thereafter. After the 18 month grace period, the depoists are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If the puppy that is being held by your deposit, happens to become unavailable for purchase (sickly, dies, there is something wrong with it, etc.), the pregnancy doesnt happen or is lost, then the deposit is transferable but NOT refundable. It is very important that you realize that timing is an uncertainty when it comes to breeding dogs, and producing puppies, therefore we do not guarantee timing on any litter, nor do we guarantee that the litter will be produced, and available. You have to remember that we are dealing with Mother Nature and living, breathing, creatures, therefore things happen, that are out of our control, and so we ask that our clients be aware of that, understand the uncertainty and be patient in regards to getting their puppy, and the timing in which they get it. We do not cater to those that are in a hurry to get a puppy, or to those that are out to buy the first puppy that they are able to find.
Before you decide to put a deposit down on one of our puppies, we want you to be 100% satisfied with us as breeders and with our dogs. We want to make sure that all your questions are answered, and you are sure that this is the right decision for you. Because of this, we prefer to have had many conversations with our clients, (prior to them placing a deposit), about us, our dogs, about you and your preferences, likes and dislikes, so that we get to know each other and feel comfortable with each other, as client and breeder. We feel that it is very important that the client realize that this is not a decision to be taken lightly, and that it is a big commitment, buying and owning a dog for the next 12-14 years. It is a lot of work and it is not something to be taken lightly. Therefore, we will not accept any deposits sent in any way, prior to talking with each client. We do not believe that puppies and dogs, living creatures, deserve to be bought on line, by a "Click Here to Purchase" type scenario. We do not have an automatic "Pay Pal" button that you can just click on, so that you can buy a pup purely "on-line" with no questions asked. We feel that the breeder and client need to get to know each other first. These are our babies, and we want to speak with everyone prior to us making the descision to sell to a client and believe that the client should also talk to us prior to making this big committment to purchasing and owning a new 4 legged member of your family. Someone that is looking for a good dog, and a reputable breeder, should appreciate our concern and our being so particular in the way we operate. We personally breed each litter and raise each puppy, we are not brokers and do not condone that type of business.
We can not accept your deposit unless you know at least what color and sex you are wanting. Thus once you have spoken with us, and we have agreed to accept your deposit, and once you have decided on timing, color, type, sex, then you may send your deposit to us to hold your place in line.
Your deposit holds your place in line for your pick on a specific litter, for the sex and color that you prefer, or will hold your place in line, on our waiting list, for upcoming litters, for the sex/color/type that you prefer. Deposits are filled on a first come, first serve (or in this case-first pick) basis. Here is how it works. If you are interested in a yellow male pup, in a specific litter, then you would need to send a deposit on that litter, for a yellow male pup in that litter. If you sent your deposit and were first to send it, then you would have first pick of the yellow males in that litter. If you sent your deposit and it was received 2nd, then you would have second pick of the yellow males in that litter, after the first pick client has chosen which puppy they want. In otherwords, first pick gets first choice, second pick gets second choice, so the clients pick out their puppies, from the reserved litter, in the order in which their deposits were received by us. If you are 2nd pick, and there is only one Yellow Male produced in the litter of your choice, then you will not get your puppy from that litter, unless the first pick client backs out. Therefore you will transfer your deposit to another litter of your choice and wait in line again for your puppy. In the event that there are already deposits on the litter that you have chosen to transfer your deposit to, then your deposit will fall in line, behind any existing deposits (for the same color and sex) that are already on that litter. We believe in being fair to everyone and so clients pick in order, and there are no exceptions. Keep in mind that we, as the breeders, reserve the right to keep back any pups, from any litters, at anytime, for ourselves and our partners, whether decided upon before your depoist was received or up to the last minute before the pups are ready to go home, and thus if this happens then the clients will be bumped down in the order they will pick out their puppies. So if you have a deposit on first pick Yellow male pup in a given litter, and we decide at 8wks old, to keep the pick Male, then you will become 2nd pick, 2nd only to us. In the event that there happened to be only one yellow male pup in the litter, and you are bumped to 2nd pick, and our keeping a puppy makes it so that there is no puppy available for you in the litter, you will have to wait for the next litter to arrive to choose your puppy from. I guess you could say that this is kind of our privlege for all the hard work that we put into the breeding and raising of our litters.
Because the timing of when your deposit was recieved will determine what place in line you get to pick out your puppy from the litter, you will have a better pick by getting an early deposit down on a litter of your choice, so we do suggest early deposits when possible. Early depoists, mean a better pick for you, and a better chance for you to get your puppy in a given litter.
Also, as you can see, timing can be an uncertainty, and so patience is needed if you are going to pursue getting a puppy from us. But one thing we can assure you of, one thing that is certain, is that getting a puppy from us, will be well worth the wait!
When you get to the point that we have spoken with each other, and you wish to make a deposit, then the next thing you will need to do is to contact me either by email or phone, to let me know that this is your intention. You can send the deposit via the US mail system, or via Pay Pal. We can then give you the mailing address, where you can send the deposit, if you choose to send it via the mail. The checks are always made payable to Red Rock Ranch. As long as we know that you are sending out the deposit right away, we will hold your place in line, whether it is on a specific litter, or just on our waiting lists, this way no one else will be able to get in line, in front of you, if your deposit is coming. If you are out of state, we will hold your place in line, while waiting for your deposit to arrive, for 6 days. If you are in state, we will hold your place in line, while waiting for your deposit to arrive, for 4 days (barring any Holidays and Sundays). If your depoisit does not reach us in the alloted amount of time, we will try contacting you, and if this is not sucessful, then we will take your name off of the list and wait to hear from you. If you have told us that you are sending a deposit and have changed your mind, for whatever reason, that is not a problem, but we ask that you at least be kind enough to let us know, right away, so we can take your name off of the list. We hold your place in line, in good faith, based on the word of the client, so please let us know if you have changed your mind. We never want our clients to feel pressured in any way, so if you have any doubts or have any questions for us, please dont hesitate to contact us anytime.
If you choose to use Pay Pal, we ask that the client pays the Pay Pal fee (3-4% of the total), so we will ask that you add that fee to the balance that you are sending to us. We are happy to give you our pay pal account info, when you are ready to send your deposit.
When you send your deposit, we ask that you please include a small note with your full name and address, (physical address) along with your phone #, and email address, and specifics about what you want-which litter-parents names etc, sex/color/registration type, and the fact that you realized that the deposit is non-refundable. If using Pay Pal as the method to pay your deposit, we ask that you send us an email with this info in it. We also send out an email to you that asks you to please read this deposit page, our shipping page, and our guarantee pages, and send us an email back confirming that you have read these pages and that you understand and agree with the terms.
When your deposit reaches us, we try to email or call you and let you know it has arrived. However, sometimes we get very busy, or may just forget to contact you, therefore feel free to call or email anytime for a conformation of your deposits arrival. We are happy to send you an email, as a confirmation as to the reciept of your deposit. Your cancelled check also serves as your receipt. Please know that the $200 deposit, comes off of the price of the puppy an it is not in addition to the price. Again, please make all checks payable to Red Rock Ranch.
We will send out the sales contract (and guarantee contract if it applies), prior to the shipping of your puppy. This contract must be signed and sent back to us, prior to the puppy being shipped. The puppy can not be shipped without the contracts being completed and recieved back by the breeder. Please make copies of the contracts for your records.
After we receive your deposit, it is up to the client to contact us for updates on your litter, breedings, and pregnancies. If you are waiting on a litter to be born, we will notify you of when that happens, usually within a week or so. We try to update our website as much as we possibly can, so feel free to check back regularly for updates on litters, breedings and puppy pictures.
We are happy to help you pick out your puppy, but we dont pick out your puppy and just send you the one we want to send you. It is a common practice for some breeders to do this, but we feel that you, the client, should be fully involved in picking out your own puppy. After all, that is half the fun of it!. We will talk to you about what you are looking for in type, temperament, personality, etc. and help you to pick out the right one for your preferences, but we let you do the acutal choosing if you would like to. We live with these puppies, day in and day out, seeing their individual personalities, playing with them, loving them and taking care of them from the minute that they are born, and we would love to share with you, what we are seeing, and experiencing, as we believe this will help you to make an educated decision as to which puppy will work best for your family and its needs. When its time, we are happy to send you pictures of the pups, to aid you in choosing your puppy.
We require that you pick out your puppy, usually by 6 wks of age, except when the breeder has first pick, then the breeder may wait longer to pick out his/her puppy from the litter, thus delaying the clients picking. Because the clients have to wait in line to pick their pups out, the second pick client can not pick out before the first pick, the third pick can not pick out before the 2nd pick and so on. Those waiting in line, MUST be patient and wait on the client, that has the pick in front of them. And at the same time, the clients that are picking first, must be considerate and pick out their puppy, in a timely manner. In the event that the first pick client (or therefore anyone in line thereafter) can not pick out their puppy between the 6-7th week, we as the breeder will pick out their puppy for them, or requre that they do it from pictures sent to them. If you are local or close enough to drive out and pick out your puppy personally, that is not a problem, but again this has to be done in a timely manner as mentioned above, and in consideration of those that are waiting after you to pick. As the breeder we will designate at what time the puppies will need to be picked out and picked up. If this time frame is not conveinent for the client, and they can not come pick out their pup in person, then the breeder will pick out their puppy for them. If you are not close enough to come out personally and pick out your puppy, dont worry about this, we sell to so many clients that are out of state and can not come out personally. We will help you pick, by sending your pictures of the pups that are available, so you can see each one, and we will tell you what we know about them, which one is larger, which one is the runt, which one is thicker, bigger head, darker, lighter, which one is more outgoing, more reserved, etc. So there is no need to worry if you cant come out, we will help you pick out the right one. We have had litterally hundreds of satisfied, out-of-state clients, over the years, by doing it just this way. The puppies will be picked out, and then on the average, 2-3wks later will be ready to go. Again those that live close enough, may come and get their puppies personally, those that dont, will be shipped their puppies, either by air or by ground (Please see our shipping page for more info on how the puppy will get to you if you are not close enough to pick him up). In most cases, if you are wanting to come pick up your pup in person, then you will have to either make a seperate trip, before that, to pick out your puppy, or pick out your puppy before that, by way of email and pics.
Puppies must be paid in full, including all aplicable shipping charges, by the 6th week. This enables us to make the necessary shippping arrangements and Vet appointments, so we can get the puppies out to their prospective new owners, in a timely manner. The puppies will go home, on the average, at anywhere from 8-10wks of age. Each litter is different and not every litter is ready to go home at the same age. If it is after the 10 wk mark that we are sending your puppy out, then that is our descion and you should know that it is for the puppies own good that we have made this decision. We will not send your puppy home until we feel comfortable that he/she is ready to go home, and we will make that decision as to when they will go home. We can not, and will not meet any special date requests, by the clients, as to when they want their puppy to arrive, or when they want to pick it up, if we feel that the puppies are not ready to go home. Therefore your patience is much appreciated. Remember, we are dealing not with a package, but with a living breathing little creature and we have to do what is best for the puppy, not what would be best for someones birthday present surprize, holiday weekend travel, or if this or that weekend is more convenient. We will keep the puppies here with us until we feel that they are ready to go home. Also, flight schedules and transportation reservations are out of our control, so from time to time there are things that will come up, that will delay your puppy getting to you, by a certain day or date, and we ask that you be patient in this regard also. This is talked about more on our shipping page.
Any puppies left here with us, beyond the time when we feel that individual puppy is ready to go home, will require a boarding fee to be paid by the client. We will hold puppies for longer than this 'ready to go' period, but fees will apply and are to be paid by the client.
We hope that this information has helped to answer any questions that you may have had about what is requred to place a deposit on one of our puppes as well as how the whole deposit process, and the picking of your puppy works. If you have any questions about any of this, or dont quite understand something, please feel free to contact me anytime, Im always happy to talk wtih you.
Please take the time to read over our shipping page, which addresses how the shipping process works, and how much it costs, along with our guarantee pages.
