Just an interesting side note: If you go the the LRC site, you will find that the LRC also has an official Statement on "Labradoodles", (Just as they do on "Silver Labradors") but yet some very well known, (Show) Breeders/Judges, in the Labrador Breed, have now chosen to breed the "Labradoodle" Breed despite what the LRC's official stand on the breed is. It is funny how this can be justified, by many of the same people that have written us, (as well as writing most of the other "Dilute Labrador Breeders"), as well as many of these same ones have given those involved with "Dilute Labradors" a very hard time in the past, complete with nasty hateful emails regarding our choice to breed this color that we love, refusing to be associated with us, refusing to sell us any dogs or puppies, refusing to let us breed to their Stud dogs, and all because of our choice to breed the "Dilute Labrador Coat colors". These same breeders/individuals/AKC judges, that have in the past, and continue even now to judge us for our choices, are now standing up for, and condoning their "Friends/Breeders/Judges" actions regarding their choice to breed the "Labradoodle" breed, and we now see more Labrador Show Breeders, choosing to breed the Labradoodle. You can go to some of the very well known "Labrador Forums", "Chat Rooms", and "Labrador Ring" Chat Sites, to mention just a few, (the very same forums and sites, that they drug our names through the mud for breeding silvers), to see this example of the "Double Standards" that these ones keep. We feel that if some of these TOP "Show Breeders/Judges" and their friends, and the Breed Clubs that they belong to, can justify the breeding of "Labradoodles", and turn the other cheek when it involves their own, even when the LRC does not approve of this, then it must be a personal decision based on preference. Unfortunatly, as you can see from this example, the politics of the Dog Breeding World, plays a heavy part in who is judged for what, and who is not, because of who they are, who they know, or who they work with in the breeding world. We would like to state that the LRC has not (as of the time that we contacted them at the end of 07), changed their position on the "Labradoodles, and thus their stand had not changed as of that time. Also, I want to make it very clear that we personally dont judge anyone that chooses to breed the "Labradoodle", we feel that it is a personal choice and one should not be judged for it. I feel that if someone loves their breed, or even a type of dog (as the Labradoodle is not considered an official breed with the AKC as of right now), whether recognized, not recognized, frowned upon by the breed clubs, is a faulted type or color or characteristic, or even mixed breeds, if they are breeding responsibly, ethically, and they enjoy and love what they are doing, and love their animals, and take care of them, then that is Wonderful!!! We believe that these Labrador breeders, (what I would consider to be reputable "Show Breeders"), if these ones have decided to breed the Labradoodles, then I feel that they are going to do a good, an ethical job of helping the breed, and we know that they will do it responsibly, just as they have done over the years with the Labradors that they have bred, and also just as we have done over the years with our Labrador lines, and we are doing with the betterment in breeding the "Dilute Labradors". We just found it to be a point of interest, especially because of the hateful criticism that we have had to endure (as well as many others have) because of our choice to breed the "Dilute Labradors", and we felt it would be interesting to those of you out there trying to make any sense of the controversy surrounding these "Dilute Labrador Coat Colors" that some of us have chosen to breed and love. It really makes no sense when you look at the bigger picture.
