We are so excited to be able to add this beautiful Silver or as some call it, Gray coat color to our already established breeding program. In searching for Silver lines and Blood to add to our Breeding program, we had to be very careful to get ahold of lines that were as problem free, and superior as possible so as to not lower the level of quality that our Red Rock Ranch Breeding Program has become well known for. We have built a phenominal reputation through our wonderful dogs and we did not want to regress in the quality of the dogs that we were going to be producing. We have worked for 12 years to constantly improve and move forward with our breeding, and we did not want to go backwards with the addition of this coat color. Thus we searched for several years, researching pedigrees and lines and better yet, researching Breeders of the Silver/Gray dogs, in order to find the best possible dogs to add to our program. Our standards have always been very high and have set us apart from many other breeders, and this was going to be no exception. Because of all the hard work, time, money and perserverance, we feel that there are many reasons why our breeding program offers superior quality.
There are several things that set us apart from most of the other of Silver/Gray Labrador breeders that are out there. We thought we would share some of these with you.

The first thing is that, Unlike most other silver breeding programs, our silver breeding program, and silver lines, have been closed to any and all "Outside Silver Blood" for almost 3 years now, thus allowing us to use only the lines that we are familiar with, and have been used sucessfully by certain silver breeders, for over a decade now. This allows us to take control of what our lines are producing----and in a consistant manner. Because of this we have not allowed any of these outside problems, that we are hearing about, to enter into our breeding program, thus we are able to produce dogs with very very few problems, proven by generations and generations of our own breeding lines.

The second thing is that we have been heavily involved in the sport of "Dog Showing" for over 12 years now, pursuing and achieving titles and the ultimate Labrador, with correct conformation, temperment and natural working ability. We have had and produced many titled dogs, (CH/BISS/CD/CGC/Agility-Therapy dogs, Assistance dogs etc. ) as well as having many Imports, all with top, superior (titled) pedigrees. We ALREADY have a wonderful, superior Labrador breeding program (Yellow/Black/White/Choc) that has already been established, which has produced phenominal dogs for 5 and 6 generations, with amazing sound genetics. We are now able to add all these wonderful lines to our Silver/Gray breeding program, thus improving the breed in every area---conformation, pedigree, soundness, etc. Thus our "Silver Hill Labradors", just like our Pheasant Hill Labradors, are of the same superior quality, in type, temperment and genetic soundness, that our clients have come to appreciate and expect from us over the many years that we have been breeding.

The third thing is that we are not regressing in our standards and are doing the necessary clearances needed to make sure that we are breeding only from the finest dogs available to us, not allowing those dogs that are genetically inferior, to be used in our breeding program. Because of the success we have had in producing so few problems, we also offer the same guarantees on our Silver/Gray puppies that we do on our other puppies of other colors. This consists of a 24 month guarantee on the Hips/Elbows on every one of the dogs we produce.

The Fourth thing concerns the "Type" in which the Silver/Gray Labs have ONLY been produced in, thus far. I dont know if you have noticed or not, but the silver labs have only been bred, in the 'Typical Type' which is a bit taller, with not as much substance, and thickness. There is nothing wrong with this Type, but not everyone prefers it. Because of the fact that we do already have an established, successful, Labrador breeding program, and we breed both "Typical Type" as well as "English/Show Type" in the Yellow/Black/Choc/White, we are able to create the Silver Labradors in both Types now as well, by crossing our other lines with the Silvers. Because of being able to breed our thicker Show dogs into our Silver breeding program, we can now offer clients that prefer that thicker, blockier, stockier 'Show Dog' look, litters that will produce either a thicker/stockier/blockier "Show Type" Silver Labrador, or the more traditional "Typical Type" Silver Labrador. There is a demand for both.

The fifth thing that seperates us from most of the other Silver Labrador breeders out there is that We are actively titling our Silver/Gray Labradors, which before now, no one else has done. We are proud to be " The first Breeder to have Titled and Multi-Titled a Silver Labrador Retriever". We are proud to be the "Home of the First Titled/Multi-Titled Silver Labrador Retriever" and have the worlds "First Titled/Multi-Titled Silver Labrador"------"Chief"CanCD/AKC-CD. It is our goal to continue to Show and Title our Silver dogs, just as we have been involved in doing, and are currently doing with our other color Labradors, for a very long time now, and we intend to be just as successful with the Silver coat color. Our goal, (as should be the goal of every Silver Labrador Breeder today) is to someday produce a Silver Labrador that has such beautiful, correct conformation, and that adhears so closely to the 'Show Standard' that no Kennel Club Judge will be able to overlook him/her. We hope that we have opened the way and set the example for some of the other breeders of Silver Labradors, that are serious about bettering the breed, to follow in our footsteps, and get these fine dogs out there in the public eye, and in the show ring, to bring the proper attention to this wonderful newly noticed color of our fine breed, that they deserve. And along the way producing better and better dogs for the families that find them as impressive as we do.

The sixth thing is that because we guarantee every one of our puppies, against hip/elbow/eye hereditary problems, for 24months, and hope that they will have a long healthy life with the clients that buy them. Every one of our puppies is Micro-chipped (permanently identified) before it leaves our home, and a strict record is kept of every pup we have ever produced. There is no extra charge for this, it is just somthing that we feel is necessary for the safety of our puppies.

And last but surely not least, what seperates us from other Silver Labrador Breeders is in regard to registration. The AKC offers both Full and Limited regsitration on puppies produced out of AKC registered Stock. The Limited regsitration is for those clients that just want a family companion-a pet, and dont wish to breed or show. Most other breeders, will sell every puppy or at least the larger majority of the pups that they produce, on Full registration to just anyone, to breed. Most breeders can charge more for the full registration. We do not feel, that for us, this is how we want to do things. Thus we offer the" Pet Price" to these clients, so as to give them a break on the price of the pup since their intentions are not to breed their puppy, and sell them on limited registration. The full registration is designed for those who would like to breed their dogs, or show, and thus the "Breeding Price" is more than the "Pet Price". Here is the point, we are not in this to breed as many Silver litters as possible and to make as much money as possible on the breedings. So we do not offer all of our puppies on Full Registration. In fact, unlike many other breeders we sell VERY, VERY FEW of our puppies for breeding, on full registration. We dont beleive in flooding the breed with tens of thousands of puppies being sold for breeding to anyone and everyone. Thus MOST of our pups go out on Limited registration. On the other hand, we are willing at times, to help out sincere, honest, Labrador loveing clients with superior breeding stock, to either add to their breeding program, or to start their breeding program with, but that is the exception.
